Cameron Diaz wanted for ‘The Expendables 3’

According to E! Online, The Expendables 2 director Simon West has his eye on some of Hollywood’s hottest butt-kicking leading ladies if he decides to make a third flick in the action film franchise. “I like the idea of the Expenda-Belles where it’s seven or eight women mercenaries,” West told us at last night’s Hollywood premiere of The Expendables 2. “It would be Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Mila Jovovich, the list goes on,” he said, adding, “Helen Mirren, Jamie Lee Curtis would be great.”

Expendables 2 star Terry Crews also has some gorgeous gals in mind. “I love Kate Beckinsale in Total Recall,” Crews said. “I would love to see Charlize Theron. She would be a sweet badass just doing some crazy stuff!” West says the gang of femme fatales wouldn’t put the franchise’s male action stars out of a job. “No, it would be running parallel,” he said of the plot. “They would meet up and then they would fight and they would join up and save each other.”

What do you think of the idea of having Cami in this kinds of project again? Is it a match made in heaven or a bit too much like what she did in the Charlie’s Angels franchise?

Filmography update: ‘Any Given Sunday’

I have added Blu-ray captures of Cameron’s performance as Christina Pagniacci in Any Given Sunday to our photo gallery. She starred opposite Al Pacino, James Woods and Dennis Quaid in director Oliver Stone’s 1999-drama. While not one of my favorite movies, Cameron delivers a great performance as the tough Christina and certainly holds her own against Pacino and the others. This update means two milestones for our photo gallery: We now have over 70,000 pictures and screen captures from all of Cameron’s feature film roles! I have also added a press interview for Any Given Sunday to our video archive as well as updated the film page with new information.

Cameron Diaz’s latest project is all about looking and feeling good. HarperCollins announced Wednesday that the star of Charlie’s Angels‘There’s Something About Mary and other films has an agreement with the publisher for a book on health and wellness. ‘Gambit’ release delayed until Winter 2013

Some sad news regarding the release of Gambit was released a couple of days ago: Michael Hoffman’s remake of the 1966 caper comedy has now been pushed to an unspecified date in Winter 2013. Cameron Diaz and Colin Firth star as partners in a con to sell a fake Monet painting, and the film has a script by Joel and Ethan Coen. CBS Films initially slated the pic for a January 2013 release before most recently shifting it to October 2012. Now they appear to have changed their minds, and we’ll likely see Gambit drop in January or February of 2013. I don’t really know what this tells us about the movie itself, but I’m still very excited to see Cameron in this kind of film again.

More outtakes from Harper’s Bazaar UK photoshoot

I have added five more outtakes from the photoshoot Cameron Diaz did for Harper’s Bazaar UK earlier this summer. The shoot, made to promote the release of What to Expect When You’re Expecting (available on Blu-ray and DVD in September!), has Cami looking gorgeous in white. As always, click on the previews below for the full album.

Cameron poses for Paramount 100th anniversary photo

Cameron Diaz, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey, Jr., Robert De Niro and Tom Cruise were among the movie superstars who gathered at Paramount Studios’ fabled Lot 18 for an eye-popping ‘class’ photo to celebrate the film Mecca’s 100th birthday. Photographer Art Streiber shot the star-studded group snap for Vanity Fair and admits he was cool, calm and collected until DiCaprio arrived. He recalls, “He looked up at the stage and he said, ‘This is epic’.” And the magic moment wasn’t lost on Charlize Theron: “There are moments in your life where you find yourself in circumstances where you just have to pinch yourself. I got to rest my hand on Harrison Ford’s shoulder, while Steven Spielberg was standing next to me – not too shabby.”

In total 116 superstars and movie executives turned up for the once-in-a-lifetime shoot, photographed on the soundstage that housed the Star Trek TV and movie franchises. Streiber admits it was a great opportunity to reunite some co-stars: “There were a lot of people who hadn’t seen each other in years.”
