Lionsgate is pushing back the due date for What to Expect When You’re Expecting, the studio said yesterday. The comedy, which stars Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz among others, will premiere on May 18, 2012, a week after it was originally slated to debut in theaters.

By delaying the film’s debut, the studio will get out of the way of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s latest collaboration Dark Shadows and Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy The Dictator. Instead, the film will go up against Universal’s big-budget adaptation of the popular board game Battleship.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting is based on the popular parents-to-be book. Kirk Jones directs the film.

iVillage.com has premiered some brand new posters from the upcoming comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting. The film – coming to theaters on May 11 – stars Cameron Diaz, Brooklyn Decker, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Lopez, and Anna Kendrick as expecting mothers.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting is set to hit cinemas on Mothers Day next year.

According to Just Jared, Glee‘s Matthew Morrison and Cameron Diaz will be playing husband and wife in the comedy drama What to Expect When You’re Expecting.

The movie takes “a look at the lives of five couples as they prepare to become parents,” with Cameron set to play the host of a weight-loss fitness show. Nancy McPhee’s Kirk Jones will direct the movie, based off the nonfiction pregnancy guidebook series.
