Wichita becomes Knight and Day

Months after landing Tom Cruise over several other studios that courted him, 20th Century Fox has finally found a title for the film he is currently shooting, according to Variety.

Studio has firmed Knight & Day as the new title for a film that had previously been known around town as Wichita and Trouble Man.

Fox has also set Peter Sarsgaard, Viola Davis, Olivier Martinez, Paul Dano, Maggie Grace and Mark Blucas to star with Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the James Mangold-directed action comedy. Mangold wrote the most recent draft with Scott Frank.

Joe Roth, Todd Garner, Steve Pink and Cathy Konrad are producing a film Fox will release July 2, 2010. Pic is shooting in Massachusetts, and will move to other locations that include Spain, Austria and the tropics.

Cruise plays a man of mystery who links up with Diaz. They become fugitives, there are betrayals and shifting alliances all around them, and they must figure out whether to be guided by truth or trust.

On the Set of Wichita Project – Sep 28

Earlier today, Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise were once again photographed in the streets of Boston. By looks of it, they continued filming the scene from September 23rd, as Cameron wore the same yellow dress, etc. Check out 24 photos by clicking on the preview below.

Paul Dano joins Wichita Project

Paul Dano (playing the big brother in Little Miss Sunshine) joins Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in Fox‘s untitled action comedy, previously titled Wichita. James Mangold is directing.

According to Variety, the story centers on a federal agent, portrayed by Cruise, who finds himself teamed with a wholesome and upbeat Midwestern woman, played by Diaz. Dano will play a charming but mysterious scientist whose invention is at the center of Cruise and Diaz’s chase.

On the Set of Wichita Project – Sep 21/23

Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise has started filming the still untitled Wichita Project in Boston! On September 21, Cameron was photographed outside her trailer, and earlier today she shot a scene with Tom Cruise. Cami looked absolutely beautiful in a yellow dress, handcuffed and all! Marc Blucas joins ‘Wichita’

James Mangold’s as-yet-untitled new thriller (it was previously known as Wichita, but now it’s just ‘Untitled Wichita Project’) has just added former Buffy star Marc Blucas to a cast which already includes Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Maggie Grace.

Blucas will play Diaz’s fireman ex-boyfriend, who’s “still smitten with her and becomes confused by the agent’s overtures of friendship”. Filming of the movie starts next month in Boston.

Maggie Grace joins ‘Wichita’ project

Maggie Grace has joined James Mangold’s still-untitled spy flick, starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

The film follows Diaz’s lonesome lady who turns up for a blind-date which ends up on a rollercoaster ride with super spy (Cruise) whose job is to guard a powerful and potentially infinite power source. Grace has been drafted to play the little sister about to get married with the expectation that Diaz will walk her down the aisle following the death of their father.

Mangold’s thriller shoot kicks off this October in Boston.
