Movie Rumor: Peaceable Kingdom

Posted on June 26th, 2009

Here’s a new movie rumor surrounding Cameron Diaz! According to IMDb.com (though they aren’t always a reliable source), Cameron will star in Nick Cassavetes’ – yes, that is the director of My Sister’s Keeper – next film. It’s called Peaceable Kingdom, and is based on the true life and work of Dame Daphne Sheldrick’s efforts to preventing elephant extinction in war-torn Kenya. It’s a drama, penned by Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Terabithia), with Mandalay Pictures‘ Cathy Schulman and Peter Guber producing.

In an article from February this year, they mention an early fall start date for the movie. However, Cameron has already confirmed that she will be starring in the yet untitled James Mangold project (aka Wichita) which will begin production in September.

Either she isn’t going to be in Peaceable Kingdom at all, or they have worked the schedule around Cameron. Hopefully it’s the latter, as I would love to see more dramatic roles for her. Only time will tell. Stay tuned!
